Chief Officer

Job Details

The Chief Officer is the head of the Deck Department and reports directly to the Master. This role oversees cargo operations, deck maintenance, navigation support, safety management, and crew supervision while ensuring compliance with company procedures and international maritime regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Valid Chief Officer (Chief Mate) Certificate of Competency.
  • Valid STCW certification and required Flag State endorsements.
  • Extensive experience in cargo operations, ballast management, and deck operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, ISPS Code, MLC 2006, COLREGs, and GMDSS.
  • Experience in navigation, bridge watchkeeping, and deck maintenance.
  • Strong leadership and crew management skills.
